At the beginning of October we took on a new member of staff, Jess. Jess will be working for us on Saturdays and has already made a fantastic impression on us with her outstanding work ethic. As I revealed a while ago, I thought it would be great to get Jess to reveal ’10 things I love’. So without further ado, here are the 10 things that Jess loves the most….

Ever since i was little I’ve been known for always humming a tune, and quite often people come into my room to me belting out a ballad at the top of my lungs. Singing is my stress relief and I don’t know where I would be without it.

Chocolate is my number 1 guilty pleasure, whenever I’ve had a bad day or I’m stressed I’ll eat chocolate. My favourite by far is the marvellous creations ‘to share’ bar…..I don’t share my chocolate…

Having grown up travelling with my family to various places both within the UK and Europe, I have learnt that there is so much more to see and experience in the world such as different cultures and traditions, and getting to meet new people. I can’t wait until I can go on my own adventure.

Water sports

As I grew up I travelled around the UK with the UK Windsurfing Association. As a result of this I developed a love of water, being in it, being on it, theres a sense of peace that you get when its just you and a boat or a board exploring the sea.

My family

Family wind you up, make you laugh, make you cry but at the end of the day they are there for you no matter what. I love my family and nothing compares to them, I will always be forever thankful for everything they have done and will do for me.

My best friends

My best friends are practically family to me. The continuous support, love and care I get from them helps me through the challenging times and the outstanding times. They mean the world to me – just like my family, and I don’t know what I would do without them.

My dog

I have a little old west highland terrier called Bonnie. Bonnie is gorgeous and the cutest little being (of course my opinion is bias) she’s always up for cuddles and can always cheer me up.

Whenever I’ve not seen my best friend for a long time we always meet up and order chinese, its our little thing and even when I’m not with her and I have it, it reminds me of the hilarious times we’ve had. Chinese is literally the most amazing take away ever made and its my go-to food when I can’t be bothered to cook.

Growing up my family have been heavily involved in scouting which has lead to it being a big part of my life. A scouting family is like no other family, and as I’ve got older going through beavers, cubs, scouts, explorers, gang show, being a young leader and helping out on big events, my family has just kept growing. I love scouting as it has enabled me to be myself and be accepted.

Sitting by a campfire wrapped in a warm blanket

As i said above I love scouting and part of scouting is sat round a campfire with all your friends wrapped in a camp blanket singing campfire songs. This for me is peace, feeling the warmth in you face, huddled up to the people next to you, not thinking about anything except whats happening in that exact moment – a complete escape from everything. Nothing beats this.
