10 Things I Love… apart from Photography obviously

Although this post is from a couple of years ago, I thought it was worth refreshing it as we have a number of new people who might have missed it before.

1. Starbucks, well coffee in general.

I’m a bit of a coffee addict and I really don’t function well without it. I tried tea once and I can’t stand it but coffee is where it’s at for me. Don’t worry though, I don’t start work until I’ve had my first cup of the day.

2. Music

I love listening to music. The radio, my iTunes collection, pretty much most styles of music too. There is always something playing while I edit your images or I’m doing my admin work.

3. A good TV drama

I’m currently into watching ‘The Blacklist’ (yes I know I’m behind the times). If you haven’t seen it, then make sure to check it out.

4. Visiting Places

I love to go somewhere new and experience the culture. Taking my camera with me when I go is important for recording those memories. On the list of places to visit (amongst many others) are Mongolia, South Africa and Vegas.

5. Losing myself in a great book
I’ve been known to read an entire novel in a day before now. Currently I’m just about to finish the Steve Jobs biography. It’s an amazing tale of what can happen when you work hard.

6. Apple (The computer company, not the fruit)
I moved to an Apple computer about 8 years ago now and I haven’t looked back. I love the way everything integrates with everything else and it all just works. I’ve so far resisted from buying the watch, but I don’t know how long I can hold out for.

7. A decent curry
Curry is most definetly my ‘go to’ comfort food and I love a curry that makes me sweat. Flavour is important too though. I’m not a fan of those curries that blow your brains out with spice while having no real taste. My recommendation for a good curry is Chutney’s in High Wycombe. You can’t beat the food or the service.

8. Flying
Having been born in Australia with family in the UK, I blame my parents for this one. We made a reasonable number of flights when I was a child and it’s something that as a result I’ve always enjoyed. Maybe in another life I’d have been an airline pilot. I started learning to fly a light aircraft a few years ago and it’s something that I hope to continue one.

9. Good Friends

Sitting and chatting with good friends and putting the world to rights makes for a great evening. Anywhere to do this is good, it’s the company that makes a good evening, not necessarily the location.

10. My family
Last but not least, I love my family. They are my most trusted friends and the people I bounce my ideas off of and for that I am very thankful and appreciative. A huge show of appreciation has to go to my wife Caroline, who constantly supports and encourages me in everything I do.

Why not tell us in the comments, one thing that you love.
